Earlier in the year, I registered online on the Mole Valley web site for an allotment. On Wednesday last week I had a phone call from the Site Manager for Leatherhead allotments saying she had a pitch available if I was interested. Well, to be honest, I would have preferred one on the Ashtead site as I live in Ashtead but I agreed to meet her on site to have a look, thinking I’d probably decline the offer and wait for one in Ashtead. But then I am number 43 on the waiting list, so it could be a while…
